Juan Carlos Chornet
Flute soloist of the Orquestra Ciutat de Granada and International Soloist

Trained at the Higher Conservatories of Music in Valencia, Madrid and Héctor Berlióz in Paris, Juan Carlos Chornet began an intense musical career in 1990 that has taken him to stages throughout Europe.

As a soloist or with chamber ensembles he has been directed by some of the most prestigious directors of the moment, such as Christopher Hogwood, Frans Brüggen, George Benjamín, Josep Pons, Fabio Biondi, Rinaldo Alessandrini, Harry Christopher, Lorin Maazel... performing alongside soloists such as Marta Almajano, Victoria De Los Ángeles, Jana Bouskova, Vitoria Mullova, Placido Domingo among others.

Since 1991 he has been solo flute of the City Orchestra of Granada, the city where he resides. Activity that he combines with being a professor at the High Performance Music School of Valencia (Esmar). Together with the City of Granada Orchestra he has participated in all their recordings and international tours: Germany, Austria, Italy, Great Britain, Belgium, Portugal...

 Juan Carlos Chornet has also performed with many of the country's main orchestras, the Valencia Orchestra, the Barcelona and National Symphony Orchestra of Catalonia, the Gran Canaria Philharmonic Orchestra, the Royal Symphony Orchestra of Seville, the Teatre Lliure Chamber Orchestra, etc. . on stages, cycles and festivals in Granada (Festival I. of Music and Dance), Úbeda Music Festival, Santander and San Sebastián Festivals, Alicante Contemporary Music Festival, National Auditorium of Madrid, Teatro de la Maestranza in Seville, Palau de la Música de Valencia, Palau de la Música Catalana, Auditoriums of Zaragoza, Tenerife, etc. He was part of the Orchestra that was created for the inauguration of the Palau de les Arts in Valencia.

He is a founding member of the Ensemble Neo Ars. This group was born in 2008 from the experience of its members in the interpretation and composition of contemporary music and its fundamental objective is to support and promote excellence in these areas. Since its creation, the group has carried out intense activity inside and outside our borders, offering recitals at prominent events and spaces: CNDM Series 20/21 Series, Malaga Contemporary Music Conference, European Festivals Association Congress in Spain, Blumental Center of Tel Aviv, Cerise Center of Paris, Central Theater of Seville or Alhambra Theater of Granada among others.

Although his main occupation is as a soloist, Juan Carlos Chornet also carries out a great pedagogical activity, which has led him to give master classes, courses and conferences in the main Spanish Courses and Masters, in various young orchestras in Spain, as well as in the Higher Conservatory of Music of Granada, where he was a professor from 2004-2008 and the Pernambucano Conservatory of Recife (Brazil). He is a professor at the Manuel de Falla International Music Academy, as well as a regular professor at the Youth Orchestra of Andalusia and the National Youth Orchestra of Catalonia.

Regular collaborator of numerous chamber music groups, Mintaka 07 group (flute and percussion), Trio Silénus, Ensemble Nayb, and founding member of the Taima Group (Andalusian Contemporary Music Workshop), with which he has performed world premieres of works by José García Román, Luis by Pablo, S. Holt... and first auditions in Spain of works by G. Crumb, M. Gould, S. Holt, T. Keuris, G. Kroll, Krystrof Penderecki, I. Yun, etc.

He regularly collaborates with the Arbós trio and the Neo Percusión Group, Guerrero project, etc. She regularly forms a duet with harpist Daniela Iolkicheva. He regularly forms a duo with harpsichordist Darío Moreno.

In addition to his performances with the City of Granada Orchestra, Chornet offers more and more recitals as a soloist, with a wide repertoire and an established artistic projection always backed by the highest levels of quality.
