Madarys Morgan Verdecia was born in Havana into a family of musicians. She began her piano studies at the age of five. From a very young age she took part in various national and international piano competitions, winning first and second prizes as well as special awards. Her adolescence and most of her adult life was dedicated to accompaniment and chamber music. At the age of fifteen she won her first prize as an accompanying pianist and chamber musician with her sister Mirelys Morgan. She was a student of the distinguished pianist and pedagogue Dmitri Bashkirov at the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía. Claudio Martínez-Mehner, Bashkirov's assistant at that time, was also her teacher, and Màrta Gulyás and Luis Fernando Pérez were her chamber music teachers. He was taught by other musicians and pedagogues in that institution such as Zajar Bron (Violin), Radovan Vlatkovic (Horn), Hansjörg Schellenberger (Oboe), Jacques Zoon (Flute) and Tom Krause (Bariton). He played in piano masterclasses for Zoltán Kocsis, Emanuel Krasovsky, Joaquín Achúcarro, Pavel Gililov among others and chamber music for Menahem Pressler (Piano), Ferenc Rados (piano), etc. He also performed as soloist with the Youth Orchestra of Alicante OFUA. Between 2010 and 2011 she joined the Trio Global as part of the International Institute of Chamber Music to study with pianists Ralf Gothóni and Eldar Nebolsin. Madarys has given concerts in countries such as Cuba, Mexico, Colombia, Panama, Spain, Germany, Italy, Holland, Finland, Slovenia, Switzerland, Austria and Belgium.
In 2011 she continued her studies in Germany with the pianist and Rector of the University of Music in Karlsruhe Hartmut Höll. Here she began a long career dedicated to singing accompaniment, culminating a Master's Degree and Postgraduate Study both with top marks and honors. She was an academician at the Karlsruhe Opera and tutor at the opera school in Karlsruhe. She received orchestral conducting lessons with Professor and conductor Andreas Weiss. She conducted Luciano Berio's ''Folk Songs'' together with Mezzo-soprano Daniela Vega.
She participated in master classes for Brigitte Fassbaender (Mezzo), Christa Ludwig (Mezzo), Thomas Hampson (Baritone) among others. For two years she worked as piano coach for the German bass-baritone Hanno Müller Brachmann, with whom she deepened her knowledge of opera repertoire as well as oratorio and Lied repertoire. Madarys has played in concert with personalities such as Wolfgang Meyer (Clarinet), István Várdai (Cello), Michael Gieler (Viola), Liviu Prunaru (Violin), Calogero Palermo (Clarinet). With her sister she is part of a Duo piano and violin. As a soloist she has performed with the Baden-Baden Philharmonic and the National Symphony of Cuba. Since 2019 Madarys has been working as a pianist accompanist at the University of Freiburg in Germany, later gaining her teaching position in 2021, which she still holds today. Since she was very young she has had a great interest in psychology, so she is currently studying Psychology Coaching and Psychotherapy with the aim of supporting and collaborating in the field of music.
