Born in Manises (Valencia) in 1968, he studied at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Valencia, with Mª Dolores Tomás, where he obtained the "Premio de Honor Fin de Carrera". Also during his studies he participates in different master classes receiving advice from professors such as A. Marion, R. Guiot and B. Kuijken. Kuijken.
He furthered his flute studies at the "Rotterdam Conservatorium" in Holland with Jacques Zoon, where he obtained the "UM Diploma" (Soloist Diploma) with the highest marks.
Awarded in several competitions, Salvador Martínez has obtained the First Prize of the Bach Society of Madrid and the First Prize of the soloist phase of the National Competition of Juventudes Musicales de España.
Since 1988 he has been a member of the Orquesta Filarmónica de Gran Canaria, Orquesta Sinfónica de Baleares, Orquesta Ciudad de Granada, Orquesta Sinfónica de Barcelona - Nacional de Cataluña and Orquesta de Valencia, working under prestigious conductors such as Zubin Metha, Valery Gergiev, Kurt Sanderling, Gunter Herbig, Pinchas Steinberg, Eliahu Inbal, Vladimir Fedosseyev, Michel Plason, C. Hogwood among others.
In his career as a soloist he has performed the Brandenburg concertos, W. A. Mozart, J. Ibert and L. Bernstein with the orchestras Camerata Sa Nostra, Pablo Sarasate de Pamplona, Sinfónica de Barcelona - Nacional de Cataluña, Collegium Instrumentale and Orquesta de Valencia.
He has also collaborated with various chamber ensembles such as: "Manon", "Cambra XX", "Taima Granada" and "Manuel de Falla" chamber orchestra.
He has been a professor at the Escuela Superior de Música de Cataluña (ESMUC) as well as in the course "Expert in Musical Analysis and Interpretation", own title of the University of Oviedo, organized in collaboration with the Conservatorio "Julián Orbón" of Avilés.
He is regularly invited as a guest professor in the youth orchestras of the Valencian Community (JOCV), Catalonia (JONC), Murcia and the Spanish National Orchestra (JONDE). He has also been part of the teaching team in charge of the preparation of a concert tour of the Filarmónica Joven de Colombia with maestro Andrés Orozco-Estrada. Since then, he has maintained a close relationship with this project of the Bolivar-Davivienda Foundation, with which he collaborates annually as a juror in the auditions of the new young flutists who will be part of the orchestra in future editions.
He has been a member of the jury for the master exams in the specialty of transverse flute at the Haute École de Musique de Genèva (Switzerland) as well as for the 3rd International Flute Competition Franz Cibulka Musikwettbewerb in the city of Graz (Austria).
He is currently Flute Soloist of the Orquesta de Valencia and Assistant Professor of the Flute Chair at the Escuela Superior de Música "Reina Sofía" in Madrid.
