Samuel was born in Valencia and began his flute studies at the Centre artístic musical de Bétera with Adrián Serrano, who was his main teacher together with Magdalena Martínez until he obtained the title of Superior Professor with Extraordinary Award at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Valencia. He continued his musical training in Germany, with Jean-Claude Gèrard at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Stuttgart, and with Robert Winn at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln. He also achieved a Postgraduate degree at the Royal College of Music in London with Jaime Martín and the piccolo player Stewart Mcllwham.
In addition, he has complemented his academic training in courses or classes with flutists such as Robert Dick, Silvia Careddu, Aurèle Nicolet, Vicens Prats and Pirmin Grehl.
He has collaborated with various Spanish and German orchestras, including the Real Orquesta Sinfònica de Sevilla, the Valencia Orquesta del Palau de les Arts, the Orquesta de València, the Galicia Symphony Orchestra and the Berlin Komische Oper, among others. He has also played as a soloist with the Andorra National Orchestra at the Palau de la Música Catalana.
In addition to his place as co-soloist, since 2011, at the Neubrandenburger Philharmoniker in Germany and his chamber music experience, where he has won several first prizes in chamber music competitions together with the pianist Cosmin Boeru, it is worth highlighting his interest in pedagogy and body techniques. Thus, in addition to his musical training, he has taken courses such as “Anatomy of the respiratory gesture”, “Breathing according to Ilse Middendorf” and the Alexander Technique.
His activity as a teacher is mostly influenced by the Resonance method, where he has been a certified teacher since 2017, and Sensory Awareness of the latter he is a teacher in training with Enric Bruguera.
Samuel currently lives in Mallorca and is part of the creative team of Let's Play Again, an innovative project where various arts converge and face-to-face as well as online workshops are held.
